Martin St-Louis defends the game without Lane Hutson’s puck

No one doubts Lane Hutson’s skills with the puck. What will determine whether he will have a long career in the NHL is how he will perform defensively despite his small size.

However, the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, Martin St-Louis, has made it known that he is not overly bothered by this aspect of the number 48’s game.

“He is correct defensively,” he clarified. Even the punishment he got, I don’t think it was punishment.”

St-Louis finds, on the contrary, that the young man never gives up on the game and shows a lot of tenacity.

“There is not a rehearsal or presence that he does not take seriously,” said the Habs pilot. He’s alert.”

St-Louis also noted that Arber Xhekaj has greatly improved his positioning in the defensive zone.

“Big improvement,” he admitted. There, [la prochaine étape]it’s about having consistency in that. Sometimes it annoys you when you know how good the player can be.”
