a special jersey to challenge Real Madrid?

Zapping Our World EXCLUSIVE: Moussa Diaby’s “Little Brother” interview!

FC Barcelona will wear a brand new jersey in the upcoming Clásico against Real Madrid, scheduled for October 27 at the Santiago Bernabéu. This jersey, in tribute to the British group Coldplay, will mark the continuity of the agreement between Barça and Spotify, signed in July 2022. After having already honored artists such as Drake, Rosalía and the Rolling Stones in previous matches, the Catalan club is repeating this initiative by this time highlighting Coldplay. Although the exact logo that will adorn the kit is still unknown, the idea is to offer a limited edition for sale, combining the passions of music and football fans. This special jersey will also revive a symbolic link, since the song “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay accompanied Barça’s historic successes under Pep Guardiola, becoming a true anthem for the club.

Perfect timing!

Coldplay, who have left their mark on FC Barcelona’s recent history, also performed four sold-out concerts at Montjuïc in May 2023, where Barça are temporarily playing during the work on the Spotify Camp Nou. These appearances and the London band’s attachment to Barcelona add an emotional dimension to this new collaboration. Before El Clásico, Coldplay will release their next album, “Moon Music”, on October 4, and the partnership with Barça will allow for additional promotion of this opus. This jersey, celebrating both football and music, promises to be a commercial success, as has been the case with the Catalan club’s previous artistic partnerships.
