The 64th finals of the Robert Busnel French Cup of basketball had a fight Tuesday September 24.

At home, in front of a thousand spectators in the Justy-Specker hall, Pays de Fougères basket (National 1) welcomed (Pro B).

Despite the 7 point lead of Ferns At the kick-off, the professionals of the Vienna did not take long to come back on the heels of their host (10-7, 2′), who was playing without Eric Koumba.

Under the leadership of Jeanne in painting and Prot outside, Poitiers passed in front (12-13), then inflicted an 8-0 on the PFB (15-23, 8th). Choplin and his partners finished the quarter better (21-27 10th).

More consistent in defense and attack, the Blues Brothers nibbled away at their deficit at the start of the second quarter (25-27, 11th). Diop infiltrated under the baskets and Bichard was comfortable at three points (27-30, 12′).

But two winning baskets from Poitevins maintained Ferns from a distance (27-36, 13′). Blair, still behind the red line, gave his team a ten-point lead (29-39, 15′).

The opposing interiors (Balfourier, Jeanne) posed a lot of difficulty to the Fougerais defense which conceded fouls (three for Soumaoro in the 15th minute). Despite an alley-oop from Diop, the scoreboard remained in favor of Poitiers (35-45, 17′).

The PFB hung on. Diop finished a preparation by Choplin (41-48, 18′). At half-time, everything was still playable (42-49, 20′).

Poitiers widens the gap and takes control

Despite the lights going out for a few minutes during the return to warm-up, the match started again. Both teams were less successful and had a lot of waste in shooting.

Choplin relaunched Ferns free throws following an unsportsmanlike foul (44-49, 23′). But two dunks by Prot and Fibleuil allowed the Poitevins to break away again (45-53, 24′).

If Lebrun managed a three-pointer, free throws and inaccuracies punctuated this third quarter (51-57, 27′). A block from Soumaoro, then a basket from the latter, and the Fougerais almost caught up (55-57). But the formation of Pro B drove the nail in through Rupnik and Ojiaco (55-62, 30′).

Poitiers launched the last act with a 6-0 (55-68, 32′). Blair converted with free throws and three-pointers (57-75, 33′). The players of the Vienna seemed to be heading towards a logical success. They controlled their lead in the final minutes, Ferns remaining imprecise in the last gesture (61-82, 37′).

THE Blues Brothers threw their last forces into the battle and managed to get closer thanks to Gibey and Diop (70-82, 39′). But Poitiers had ensured his victory well before (70-82).

Next appointment for the PFB in National 1 this Friday September 27 At CEP .
