Metz crushes Martigues, PFC dominates Guingamp, Mendy carries Caen

Joined on the wire by Lorient last Saturday, FC Metz vented its frustration in this 6th day of Ligue 2. The Grenats crushed Martigues 6-0, with a hat-trick from Sabaly, and a double from Udol, to steal the lead of this championship from Bastia. Leader before kick-off, the Corsican club led in Dunkirk before seeing the local club turn the situation around and win 2-1. The Maritimes confirmed their good start and overtook their opponents of the evening by taking 3rd place, leaving Sporting now 6th, only one point behind.

The top three have the same number of points tonight (12). Between Metz and Dunkerque is Paris FC, who won at home against Guingamp 2-0. Other good operations this evening were the successes of Annecy and Pau, respectively over Troyes (1-0) and Lorient (1-0). The two teams follow each other in the standings, they are 4th and 5th. Also worth noting is Caen’s success over Amiens 2-1 thanks to a double from Mendy, which gives some breathing space to the Normans who are 13th tonight. Laval went to win in Rodez 3-1 after being behind on the scoreboard.
