Philippe Albert demolishes De Bruyne: “It’s indecent”

A few weeks ago, Kevin De Bruyne took advantage of a long interview to discuss a number of subjects. A Red Devil who is not followed by everyone.

Rodri, his teammate at Manchester City, echoed the same sentiment, complaining about an increasingly overloaded schedule. A situation that is becoming untenable and which led the player to confirm that a strike could be possible if the authorities do nothing.

“Only money matters”

For his part, Kevin De Bruyne explained that “only money matters to UEFA and FIFA”. Although he was not considering going on strike, his attitude did not please Philippe Albert.

“I don’t agree. It’s indecent to complain when you’re a professional player. You have the chance to make your passion your job. Money is very important,” said the former Golden Shoe on the set of ‘La Tribune’.

“It’s indecent”

“There are professions that we never talk about that sometimes have trouble making ends meet. The more matches you play, the less you train. The public must know that. I don’t think there are more injuries than before. When you are privileged, you have no right to complain,” adds Albert.

As a reminder, Manchester City could play around 80 games this season if they go all the way in all competitions. With more games in the Champions League and especially at the Club World Cup, the players think it is impossible to perform at the best level for so many games.

This latest competition has changed format with many more clubs qualifying and a trip in the summer rather than mid-season. After the Champions League final, there will therefore still be matches to play.
