Ivan Juric new coach of AS Roma

AS Roma wasted no time. After announcing the departure of Daniele De Rossi this Wednesday morning, the Roman club made official late in the afternoon the identity of its new coach: Ivan Juric. Unable to achieve their main objective, a Stefano Pioli who finally joined Saudi Arabia and the bench of Al-Nassr, the American owners of Roma opted for Ivan Juric, engaged until the end of the season with an automatic extension in the event of qualification for the Champions League.

The 49-year-old Croatian coach is thus continuing his career in the peninsula, having only coached in Italy after finishing his playing career at Genoa in 2010. After being Giampiero Gasperini’s assistant at Inter Milan and then at Palermo, and sitting on the bench at Mantua in Serie B, he then settled permanently in the Italian elite from 2015: Crotone, Genoa, Hellas Verona and Torino, where he worked between 2021 and 2024. Juric had his first training session with the Roma players this Wednesday, just after signing his contract with the Giallorossi.
