The Arbitration Department of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation discussed the cases of arbitration that tainted the match between Wydad Athletic Club and Moghreb Tetouan, played in the second round of the professional tournament.
In this context, Radwan Gayed, director of the arbitration committee, confirmed the validity of the decision of the match referee to award a penalty in favor of Wydad in the 90th minute + 3′ of the match.
Radwan Gayed said in his analysis of the refereeing cases: “The difficulty of the shot is that it occurred during extra time in the second half. Here, a penalty was announced in extra time. There was give and take, and there was no offside before the shot, and the pass was also over the shoulder or chest, and therefore there was no violation for which the attacking team was punished before the last mistake.
The director of the arbitration committee continued: “We note that there was a negligent obstruction on the part of the defender of Morocco Tetouan, who tried to reach the ball, but did not succeed, and therefore the risk he took to reach the ball and make contact. Such contact with the Wydad striker is punishable by law, with a penalty without disciplinary sanction. “For negligence.”
He added: “A group of people talked about the extra movement made by the Wydad striker. The referee does not take this into account, but rather looks at whether there is a penalized contact or whether there is only contact for the pleasure of competing for the ball.”
Jade concluded: “In this case, there was contact from the Tetouan defender, which affected the ball play of the Wydad striker, and therefore the penalty was valid. The mouse room confirmed this after checking all the details of the shot. and this decision is correct.
