This Wednesday will take place the 64th edition of the Grand Prix of Wallonia (1.Pro), taking place in the East of Belgium, linking Blegny and Namur. This event should once again be for a puncher with the magnificent finish at the Citadel of Namur (2.9 km at 4.1%). Last year, Gonzalo Serrano (Movistar) had created a surprise and the Spaniard will be back this Wednesday to defend his title. But it will not be easy since with the presence of 9 WorldTour teams, some of the best riders on the planet will be at the start.

A perfect ending for Arnaud De Lie?
With 5 climbs and a puncher finale, the hilly event could perfectly please Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny). Even though the Belgian failed to defend his title on the Quebec Cycling Grand Prixhe showed that he was in good shape by following the acceleration of Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates). Winner of the Tour of Denmark and the last stage of the Renewi TourTHE “Lescheret Bull” established himself as a logical favorite. The 22-year-old rider has however never participated in this event which he will discover.
This is not the case of Tim Wellens (UAE Team Emirates), already winner 8 years ago, in 2017. The Belgian is always formidable when he does not have to sacrifice himself for his Slovenian leader. Winner of the Renewi Tour a few weeks ago, Wellens seems to be in good shape. UAE Team Emirates will also have the young Antonio Morgadowhich could shine. Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty), second in Quebec GPwill also be one of the favorites. Alex Aranburu (Movistar), Axel Zingle (Cofidis), Quinten Hermans (Alpecin-Deceuninck), Paul Lapeira (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team), Jasper de Buyst (Lotto Dstny), Joseph Blackmore, Jake Stewart (Israel-Premier Tech), Clement Champoussin (Arkéa-B&B Hotels), Mathieu Burgaudeau (TotalEnergies) and Jonas Abrahamsen (UNO-X Mobility) will be among the outsiders.
