MLB: Blue Jays remove Bo Bichette from injured list

The Toronto Blue Jays returned Bo Bichette to their lineup Tuesday after a stint on the injured reserve, but infielder Will Wagner will miss the rest of the season and outfielder Daulton Varsho was placed on injured reserve.

Bichette, 26, missed two months with a calf injury. A two-time All-Star, he hit .286 and had two RBIs during a four-game stint with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons as he got in shape.

Bichette is batting .222 with four homers and 30 RBIs this season with the Blue Jays, who are scheduled to play the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.

Wagner was placed on the 60-day disabled list with a left knee injury. He has not played in the Blue Jays’ last two games against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Wagner, who has eight hits in his first four major league games since making his debut on Aug. 12, is batting .305 with two home runs and 11 RBIs this year.

Varsho was placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Saturday. He has hit .214, hit 18 homers and driven in 58 runs so far this season.
