Phil Collins’ original version returns for the players’ entrance at the Parc des Princes

Back to the good old habits. At the Parc des Princes, the original version of Who Said I Would by Phil Collins will once again be used for the players’ entrance before kick-off. After testing a remix during the first home game of the season, on August 23 against Montpellier (6-0), Paris Saint-Germain has decided not to continue this experiment, according to information reported by France Bleu.

PSG wanted to “change the musical colour of the Parc”

The remix was met with heavy criticism, both on social media and in the stadium. Whistles were heard when this new music was played.

Paris Saint-Germain, according to an internal source, had defended this remix to RMC Sport: “We have slightly evolved the original version, while respecting the identity of the piece. We want to evolve the musical color of the Parc while respecting the codes and traditions of the club.”

The detractors have clearly won their case, as in 2021 when the club tried to impose a DJ Snake production instead of Phil Collins. After two matches, PSG finally backed down “due to the emotion aroused”. Phil Collins’ music has accompanied the entrance of PSG players since 1992.
