“It was a great pleasure to dance with Aya Nakamura,” says the Captain of the Republican Guard

Dancefloor – One of the highlights of the Paris Olympics opening ceremony was Aya Nakamura’s performance with the Republican Guard on the Pont des Arts

They had been warned in January that they would be teamed up, for one of the twelve tableaux, with a “French artist of international stature” during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. So, the members of the Republican Guard did not hesitate for long and quickly suspected that they would be teaming up with the queen Aya Nakamura on the Pont des Arts.

A majestic performance, where the musicians quickly got into the game, as Captain Frédéric Foulquier explained during the show “C à vous” on France 5: “This choreography was presented to us during the first meeting with Aya Nakamura, on July 15, at the Villacoublay base. We were shown these dance steps, I said yes, there is nothing extravagant. Of course not, there was not [d’humiliation]it was a great happiness.”
