The very first sprint race in the history of MotoGP will take place this afternoon, at 4:00 p.m. Also, don’t be surprised to discover, already, the results of the qualifications (organized at the end of the morning) and the starting grid. A grid that will have to be taken into account for the two races to come, namely the first event broadcast just now as well as the main race, to be followed tomorrow, Sunday March 26, 2023, live.

Bad pick for Zarco and Quartararo in Portimao

And unfortunately that means our French will be badly positioned on both starts, with Johann Zarco and Fabio Quartararo not being able to do better than 10th and 11th, respectively. They will therefore start at these two places, later, when the lights go out, in Portimao. For the rest, the first line will be composed, in order, of Marc Marquez (poleman), Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin. The Ducati could quickly take the advantage over the Honda but let’s remain cautious about any predictions.

Here is the grid for the sprint race, subject to possible modifications, in the event of hypothetical penalties.
