Asked, the police forces have remained evasive in recent days, refusing to give details of this control. “The exact location of these offenses cannot be communicated, as investigations may still be ongoing. We cannot give details. The road combined with the area would be too recognizable”, we learn. At most, we know that the offense was committed in 2022, by a motorist driving a Bugatti Chiron, an overpowered hypercar capable of exceeding 400 km / h.

If the police show some embarrassment, it is because such an offence, supposed to lead to the withdrawal of a license, a large fine, or even imprisonment, could go unpunished. Indeed, the radars installed at our Belgian neighbors are divided into several categories, which can record variable maximum speeds. If the sensors installed on the highways are the most powerful, they are however not approved to flash beyond 250 to 300 km / h. Beyond these limits, the reliability of the measurements could be called into question.
