According to the union, “the management wishes to transform the Soignies site into a graphic site with high added value flocking and decoration products. It intends to automate and modernize the tool in order to make it efficient”.
The CSC specifies that the other products manufactured in Soignies, such as foam or double-sided “tapes” and labels, will be transferred to other group sites.
This reorganization will be implemented in four phases until the end of 2024. The Renault procedure has been initiated.
The CSC Building, Industry and Energy indicated that it “is indignant at this announcement. After the health and energy crises, nearly 250 families will once again be faced with financial difficulties”.
The union announces that it “will make every effort to limit the impact of this reorganization on the number of dismissals”. A social component that allows each dismissed worker to be able to maintain an acceptable standard of living will be negotiated. The CSC also announces that it will accompany the dismissed workers through the retraining cells so that they can find a new job. It also intends to ensure that the workers who will remain in the Sonegian company can maintain suitable working conditions and wages.
