NHL 2025 transactions: Savard and Evans climb the list

Two U.S. representatives at the Four-Nation Showdown top the list of candidates likely to be traded by the March 7 deadline.

Forwards JT Miller and Brock Nelson are first and second on TSN’s list, respectively.

For the Montreal Canadiens, David Savard is the highest ranked defender, moving from fifth to fourth on the initial list, while Jake Evans still attracts a lot of interest, moving from 30th to 12th place.

Miller is having a shaky season so far, but he still has 33 points in 37 games after recording a career-high 103 points in 2023-24.

The Canucks find themselves in a slump, with a 2-6-2 record, and they just suffered a 6-2 blowout at the hands of the Oilers on Thursday, which could prompt them to make a move sooner rather than later .

Among the teams that appear interested are the Hurricanes, Devils, Blues and Rangers.

Miller was also first on the initial list along with teammate Elias Pettersson, who is now 10th.

Nelson, who spent his entire career with the Isles, is now 33 years old. He amassed 13 goals and 28 points in 46 games.

Chicago Blackhawks right-handed defenseman Seth Jones was added to the list, as were Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Strome and Nashville Predators center Michael McCarron, who turns 30 on deadline day.
