Jannik Sinner is truly uncompromising.
A few hours after Novak Djokovic’s retirement against Alexander Zverev, the title holder challenged Ben Shelton for a new place in the final of the Australian Open.
And despite a cannonball start from the American (entry break) and a new break at 5–5 to serve for the set, the latter, despite two set points, was unable to conclude before suffering the tough law of the world number 1 during the decisive game.
A real turning point when Shelton could no longer keep up with the Italian, still impressive physically and in the management of important moments.
Without panicking after a first set where he was really shaken up, Jannik Sinner won 7–6(2), 6–2, 6–2, in 2h30 in this second semi‐final and will face a rather strong Alexander Zverev. fresh in the final this Sunday.
-A match where he will once again be the big favorite.
