A man sets fire to the Cravache residence in Marseille while trying to set himself on fire

Terrible scene this Wednesday morning, January 22 at the foot of the Cravache residence, in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille. It was 10:45 a.m. when a man set himself on fire.

A desperate gesture which, according to our information, could have occurred against the backdrop of a marital dispute.

Around fifteen people poisoned

Besides the fact that the victim was very seriously burned and is in a state of absolute emergency – without his life being in danger – the fire spread to the building. 23 people were poisoned by the fumes, requiring evacuations using rescue hoods. Three of them were transported in relative emergency.

20 medical vehicles from the battalion and 67 marine firefighters were involved in the intervention.
