Jordan Poole’s 8 quick points, back on the Chase Center floor, allowed the Wizards to take the lead while both teams lacked skill (17-15). Andrew Wiggins wakes up the Warriors but two 3-pointers from Bub Carrington (17 points) at the end of the quarter give Washington a nine-point lead (34-25).

Sensing danger, Stephen Curry takes matters into his own hands. While Bilal Coulibaly (4 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds) blows on the bench, the Warriors star scores 5 points in a row and delivers an assist to lead Golden State to a 13-2 lead (38-36). Jordan Poole then responds by catching fire. He scores four 3-pointers in a row, including one with Andrew Wiggins’ foul, and ends the second quarter with 15 points to put Washington at +7 (60-53)!

Alex Sarr (11 points, 9 rebounds) opens the second half with his second 3-pointer of the match and the gap reaches ten points (65-55). The Warriors, however, recovered thanks to the trio Stephen Curry – Dennis Schroder – Andrew Wiggins and passed an 11-0 to their opponent to regain the advantage (66-65). Jordan Poole then resumes his festival but the Warriors cash in and respond with Wiggins and Schroder to stay in front (89-87).

Nine points in a row from Kyle Kuzma (22 points) revive the Wizards but the skill of Moses Moody (13 points) keeps the two teams back to back (96-96). It is the contribution of Kevon Looney (10 points, 13 rebounds) in defense and offensive rebounding which allows the Warriors to begin “money time” with a seven-point lead (110-103).

Five points in a row from Stephen Curry, despite good defense from Bilal Coulibaly, put the Warriors at +10. The Wizards attempt a last stand but five points from Andrew Wiggins kill their last hopes.

This is the ninth defeat in a row for Washington. The Warriors finished the first part of the season with 21 wins and 20 losses.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– Relapse for Draymond Green, concern for Stephen Curry. After missing Golden State’s last three games, Draymond Green returned to the starting five last night but had to give up after just three minutes of play. He felt discomfort in his left calf, which has already caused him problems this season, and the Warriors medical staff preferred not to take any risks. Stephen Curry headed to the locker room with one minute remaining. The Golden State point guard twisted his left ankle after rebound contact with Jordan Poole. The Warriors play seven of their next eight games at home, and they will likely have to play a few without their two leaders.

– Jordan Poole shines, Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins win. Jordan Poole brought back the good memories of Warriors fans by being hot last night on the floor of the Chase Center. He scored 15 points in the second quarter to put the Wizards ahead at the break. He finished the game with 38 points on 12/25 shots and 8/15 three-pointers, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. That said, it was Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins who stole the show. Stephen Curry scored 9 of his 26 points in the last quarter, after three periods lacking skill. Andrew Wiggins scored 9 of his 31 points in the final quarter, sealing his team’s victory with a three-pointer 47 seconds from the end of the match.

– Mixed performance from Bilal Coulibaly and Alexandre Sarr. The two Frenchmen from Washington produced a rather interesting copy last night. If Bilal Coulibaly lacked skill (2/8 on shots), he still weighed on the match by grabbing 6 rebounds and distributing 7 assists, his career record in a match. He also defended on Stephen Curry the entire game and did pretty well. Alexandre Sarr for his part was effective. Clumsy in January, he rediscovered his style with a nice 3/7 three-pointer to finish the game with 11 points and 9 rebounds, but the Warriors dominated the Wizards 58-24 in the paint.
