Former AC Milan player Hachim Mastour opened up in an exclusive interview with the Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport to talk about several points, including his young age, his period of depression, his fears, and his experience within the Milanese club.
“I always said, in Milan, I felt like a superhero. This jersey made me fly. Everything seemed easy to me. I love big stages, and playing at San Siro was incredible”first clarified regarding his training club.
Speaking of fear, Hachim confided that: “At that age, I had no fear. I trained with Kaka, Robinho, and Nigel de Jong. I also knew Allegri and Ibrahimovic, but I came from the youth sector. I didn’t yet have my own style of play, even if I brought it to the first team.
“This is all in the past. The depression started a year before Covid and continued after confinement. I no longer found the pleasure of going out into the field. I suffered from the pressure. It was a very difficult phase, both personally and professionally, but I’m glad I got through it.”spoke about the depression period.
The 26-year-old winger continued regarding his rapprochement with religion: “Now it’s better. I got through it thanks to my family. I grew closer to God and prayer. I am Muslim, I read the Koran, I pray. In Morocco, I became even closer to religion.
-“I will take slower steps and enjoy each year. Filippo Galli told me so, and he was right. At the time, I had no one to guide me. Social media was exploding at the time. What I lacked was a person to manage my image,” concluded Hachim Mastour.
As a reminder, Hachim Mastour has been free from any contract since his time in Morocco, notably at Renaissance Zemamra in 2022 and at Union Touarga in 2023.
