Deauville: the hat-trick for Valmacca

After opening his prize list in a maiden in , Valmacca went on to shine in a handicap in Deauville. Presented at the C2 level today, Patrice Cottier’s filly was up against stronger competition. Despite this, the result was the same. Ridden halfway behind the leader by Hugo Besnier, Valmacca took the advantage 350 meters from the final drive. While Mehmist seemed to be coming to swallow her whole, the filly showed herself capable of starting again at the end of the race to sign a third success in a row. A daughter of Ribchester, Valmacca was co-bred by Jean-François Gribomont and the Ecurie du Sud. She is the sister of the good Ten Horns, a Prix de Pontarmé (L.) placed for the same entourage.
