There are 15 African referees to appear on the first list of referees preselected for the 2026 World Cup by the FIFA Refereeing Commission.
The Moroccan Jalal Jayid is one of them. The other 14 are the Congolese Jean-Jacques Ndala (Congo), Tanguy Mebiame (Gabon), Mohamed Maarouf (Egypt), Issa Sy (Senegal), Amin Omar(Egypt), Tom Abongile (South Africa), Mustapha Ghorbal (Algeria), Omar Artan (Somalia), Dahane Beida (Mauritania), Pierre Atcho (Gabon), Youcef Gamouh (Algeria), Abdelhakim Al-Shalmani (Libya), Mahmoud Ismail (Sudan) and Mohamed El Hadj Ali (Chad).
They are invited to the preparation course organized by the Referees Commission of the FIFA from January 27 to 31 in Doha.
