The Swiss skiers are hiding their game for the moment before the descent from Wengen. If they were far from the mark, and perhaps cooled by the big trip from the track of Stefan Rogentin who started first on Tuesday, they still raised their level this Wednesday for the second timed test on the Lauberhon. Franjo von Allmen set the 5th time of the exercise, while Marco Kohler is 12th and Marco Odermatt 17th, almost two seconds from the lead. They thus remain a respectable distance from Ryan Cochran-Siegle who was the fastest during this training. The American beat the Norwegian Adrian Smiseth Sejersted (+0 »26) and the Italian Mattia Casse (+0 »49)
Author of good times on Tuesday after being stopped mid-effort, Alexis Monney was a little more cautious today by finishing 23rd. Justin Murisier (46th) and Arnaud Boisset (53rd), who is returning from injury, also did not force themselves to rank beyond the top 30. Loïc Meillard was also at the start. The current 3rd in the World Cup came to test the track in preparation for Friday’s super-G. His 54th rank is anecdotal.
Finally, Stefan Rogentin did not start. After his big fall at high speed the day before, the Grison preferred not to take any risks and preserve himself for the weekend’s races and the super-G. He will also be able to benefit from an additional day of rest since the third and final training on Thursday was canceled.
