The Frenchman was dominated by the Briton Jacob Fearnley (3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-3).

Frenchman Arthur Cazaux (78th in the world) was eliminated in the second round of the Australian Open, Wednesday in Melbourne, by Briton Jacob Fearnley (3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-3). Eighth finalist in Australia last season, after having notably eliminated the 13th player in the world Holger Rune, Cazaux was unable to repeat the feat and will lose precious points in the ATP ranking at the end of the fortnight. The 22-year-old from eliminated the Argentinian Sebastian Baez after five sets in the first round on Monday, after being down two sets to one.

But despite the support of the French supporters present in Melbourne, whose noisy encouragement forced Alejandro Davidovich and Felix Auger-Aliassime to leave the neighboring court to play their meeting more calmly, the Frenchman was unable to repeat this performance. At the start of the fourth set, he missed two opportunities to break his opponent, before giving up his serve to lose in four sets against an opponent whose level rose throughout the game.
