“I don’t know if I dreamed it but we did it. The pace was incredible. I tried to do what I know how to do, I don’t think I know how to do anything else. Charlie was unbeatable, stratospheric and I’m delighted for him. There is a lot of pride. I want to share this result, to celebrate it with dignity. It was quite an adventure, we had prepared well for it and in my head I was ready. The boat was perfect, it’s a real success, I’m proud to bring this boat back to 2nd place.
Before leaving, I had the anxiety of getting through it, of getting a bad place. But also for not having seen a piece of land. I was quite amazed during this world tour. I dream of traveling, of discovering these islands, it’s almost the beginning of an adventure which will one day begin to sail around the world. Every time I saw land, I was like a kid. It wasn’t easy every day, there was a difficult, terrible pace going up the Atlantic. But from the end of the Indian Ocean, we had crazy weather patterns. And that was great!”
