Things have been moving in all directions at Standard since the beginning of January. After recording three arrivals, the Liège club is looking for solutions for its undesirables.
Despite its more than limited resources, Standard has already recruited three players since the start of the winter transfer window with Andréas Hountondji (on loan from Burnley), Ibrahim Karamoko (Versailles) and Attila Szalai (on loan from Hoffenheim).
In the other direction, Standard has already parted ways with Hakim Sahabo. A solution is also about to be found for Soufiane Benjdida. Indeed, Sudinfo reports that the Moroccan striker should be loaned with an option to buy to RWDM in the coming days.
After repatriating Mickaël Biron from his failed loan to Louvain, the Brussels club was looking for an impactful striker. Seeing that Benjdida was no longer playing at Standard, the RWDM looked into this avenue and made it a priority.
-At RWDM, the Moroccan will find Ilyes Ziani and Noah Dodeigne, with whom he played last season.
A promising start to the season
At the start of the season, Benjdida got a lot of playing time and showed good things (2 goals and an assist in 15 JPL games), but he gradually lost his place with the rise of Andi Zeqiri and Dennis Eckert Ayensa. With the arrival of Andréas Hountondji, the 23-year-old understood that he no longer fit into Leko’s plans at all.
