Through the NHL: news from Benoît-Olivier Groulx, Matěj Blümel, Kieffer Bellows, etc.

The New York Rangers have recalled forward Benoît-Olivier Groulx and assigned forward Brett Berard to their Hartford farm club in the American Hockey League.

Groulx could play his first game in a Rangers uniform this evening against the Vegas Golden Knights, Filip Chytil is not able to participate in the match.

The Rangers recalled Groulx in order to have an extra center player in the lineup.

Groulx joined the Rangers organization on a one-year contract this summer, after spending his first four seasons with the Anaheim Ducks.

In 32 games with Hartford since the start of the campaign, Groulx has scored 11 goals and collected 18 assists. He has 1 goal and 4 assists in 65 career games in the NHL.

…les Stars Blümel

The Dallas Stars have recalled forward Matěj Blümel from their Texas AHL farm club. It will serve as an insurance policy for the team which is preparing to play two games in two days against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday and the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.

Blümel participated in a meeting with the Stars earlier this season, getting a hit and two shots. In the AHL, he scored 18 goals and collected 14 assists in 32 games.

The Stars are currently without the services of Mason Marchement and Tyler Seguin due to injuries. The Stars have an excellent record of 7-2-1 in their last 10 games.

…and the Predators Bellows

The Nashville Predators have recalled forward Kieffer Bellows from their AHL affiliate Milwaukee ahead of their evening game against the Washington Capitals.

Bellows has 12 goals and 10 assists in 31 games with Milwaukee since the start of the campaign. He scored 27 goals and had 22 assists in 52 games with the Toronto Marlies last season.

Bellows played his last games in the NHL in 2022-2023 with the Philadelphia Flyers. The former 1st round pick has 14 goals and as many assists in 95 games with the New York Islanders and Flyers.

Stenberg will continue his season in America

The Blues have officially assigned forward and 2023 first-round draft pick Otto Stenberg to their AHL affiliate Springfield.

Stenberg began the season with Malmö, Sweden, before representing his country at the World Junior Hockey Championship. In 7 games, he scored 3 goals and collected 5 assists. At Malmö, he had previously scored 3 goals and as many assists in 25 games.

Stenberg signed his first three-year professional contract with the Blues last May.
