Raja maintains Hafid Abdessadek as interim coach

The Raja Casablanca management committee, chaired by Adil Hala, decided to keep Hafid Abdessadek at the head of the team as interim coach, thus closing the file for a new coach for the moment.

According to a well-informed source from Hesport, the Raja steering committee, under the chairmanship of Adil Hala, has decided to give its full confidence to Hafid Abdessadek, currently at the head of the “Eagles” as an interim. This decision closes, for the moment, the file regarding the hiring of a new coach.

Thus, the same source specified that the club’s steering committee believes that the current situation and the results obtained justify full support for Abdessadek for the next matches, particularly in view of the decisive meeting against AS FAR, scheduled for next Saturday in Meknes, as part of the fifth day of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

It was also indicated that Raja officials are trying to keep the team away from any pressure, in order to achieve a positive result against the “Military”, which would allow the team to maintain its chances of qualification on the last day of the group stage.

In addition, the club’s steering committee plans to announce, in the coming days, the date of the extraordinary general meeting, in order to draw up a clear roadmap for the rest of the season.

Concerning the resignation of Khaled Fakerni, the secretary general of Raja, and of Hicham He Ouazzani, responsible for the development and restructuring of the clubthe same source insisted that this decision is due to personal reasons.

Raja must win its next two matches to hope to qualify in group B, dominated by AS FAR with 8 points, followed by South African Mamelodi Sundowns with 5 points, Raja with 4 points. As for the Congolese Maniema, he is in last position with 3 points.
