Comtoyou Racing ready for its debut at the 24 Hours of Dubai

For the first time since its arrival in the Aston Martin fold in 2024 apart from a stint in the GT Open at Spa, Comtoyou Racing will stretch its legs outside of a championship labeled SRO Motorsports Group.

Two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s will take part in the 24 Hours of Dubai next weekend.

???????? 24 Hours of Dubai: the season is already starting for Comtoyou Racing

Tom Van Rompuy, Matisse Lismont, Jamie Day and Kobe Pauwels will take turns at the wheel of the #40 Vantage GT3. The Lismont/Pauwels tandem already drove for Comtoyou Racing last year in GT World Challenge Europe. Belgian Tom Van Rompuy arrives from the WEC where he is competing in a Corvette Z06 GT3.R. As for Jamie Day, he knows the GT4 version of the Vantage best from having driven for Racing Spirit of Léman.

In the #41, Nicolas Baert will return to the family team with Dante Rappange at his side who also wore the Comtoyou Racing colors in 2024. Like Jamie Day, Viacheslav Gutak lives in Dubai. The young Russian driver comes from the LMP3 category and he will discover the Aston Martin directly at the Dubai Autodrome and more generally the GT3 category. A fourth pilot will be announced shortly.

“Everyone knows our affinity for endurance races, particularly since our victory at the last 24 Hours of Spaexplains Jean-Michel Baert, boss of the team. We also know that nothing replaces racing in terms of training for our drivers and our technical team, and the opportunity to take part in a 24 Hour event immediately plunges us into the deep end. The 24 Hours of Dubai are ideal for this, especially as the adversity will be tough both in number and quality knowing that the best GT teams will be present as well as all the manufacturers. »

“The 24 Hours of Dubai now occupy a real place in the catalog of world endurance races, and we are far from joining it as a dilettantecontinues François Verbist, team principal. We will have to familiarize ourselves with the particular route but also and above all with the Michelin tires which equip all the competitors. On the driver side, our Line Up is coherent and even reinforced by the presence of Tom Van Rompuy, as well as that of Jamie Day, Matisse Lismont and Nicolas Baert, all three members of the Aston Martin Racing Academy. Matisse, Kobe, Nicolas and Dante are among our regular drivers, imbued with the good spirit that reigns in our team, they will welcome new arrivals to quickly give them confidence and build homogeneous and fast crews. We can’t wait to see them all on the track, and finishing in a good place on Sunday! »
