Third in the Tour de Ski and winner of the last two stages in Toblach, the Norwegian will not be at the start on Friday in Val di Fiemme. He suffers from a sore throat.

Hard blow for the very dominant Norwegian team during the Tour de Ski. In great form, Harald Østberg Amundsen is forced to withdraw before the decisive weekend in Val di Fiemme. Winner in Toblach of the last two stages, the 26-year-old cross-country skier suffers from “a sore throat” according to the Norwegian federation. So he returns to the country.

Currently third in the Tour de Ski, the Norwegian therefore leaves the way open to his compatriot Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, in the lead with a good lead over the Swede Edvin Hanger. Just behind, the Austrian Mika Vermeulen and the Frenchman Hugo Lapalus are currently fighting for a place on the podium but everything is very open with minimal gaps.
