Six months after being loaned Issa Kaboré in the final moments of the summer transfer window, SL Benfica put an end to the charade and sent the player back to Manchester City, his original club. As expected when announcing his loanthe 23-year-old full-back has been used very little by the Encarnados. In total, he has only played seven matches under the orders of Roger Schmidt then Bruno Lage (two starts and only one minute of play since November 10).
Arriving in Manchester in 2020, the Burkina Faso international has never had the opportunity to defend the colors of the Skyblues. This year 2025 should be no exception, his return should very likely be followed by a new loan. As a reminder, Issa Kaboré was loaned to five different clubs: KV Mechelen, Troyes, Olympique de Marseille, Luton Town, and finally, SL Benfica.
