A goal in the tenth minute of added time is worth gold: it's getting closer at the bottom of the table – All football

Cercle de Bruges beat Louvain at the end of the suspense. The Louvanists missed out on a big blow.

After the 2-2 between Beerschot and Louvain and Charleroi's victory over Sint-Truiden, this Pro League day ended with another duel between two teams wanting at all costs to distance themselves from the red zone, namely THE Cercle de Bruges and Leuven.

But unlike the two other fairly open matches, this one did not unleash the crowds: direct play was immediately favored on both sides, the midfielders often had to watch the ball pass through the air .

A penalty that changes everything

Neither team had an expected goals rate higher than 0.5: it was therefore quite naturally that the match seemed to be heading towards this score of 0-0.

But at the end of added time, Cercle inherited a penalty, Kazeem Olaigbe took responsibility to give his team a crucial victory.

Almost everyone took points at the bottom of the table this weekend, so it was better not to miss out. Cercle would then have left Louvain five points above the red zone. But by converting his delivery, Olaigbe brings Bruges to within two points of their evening opponent, while now leaving Sint-Truiden and Kortrijk two units behind.
