The cup is full for Roland Duchâtelet, never far from Belgian football: “I am totally demotivated by the project” – Tout le football

Roland Duchâtelet wants to build a new grandstand in Sint-Truiden. But he does not feel supported by the public authorities.

In Belgium, work to modernize stadiums is a very energy-intensive project for many of our clubs. From Club Bruges to Union Saint-Gilloise via RAAL, Westerlo or Mons, you have to be patient, even if certain projects are on track.

In our country, problems do not take long to arise when a new arena is in the pipeline. This leads to frustrations both among supporters and among the clubs themselves.

Roland Duchâtelet would like to build a new stand at Saint-Trond. He had many plans for this South stand to see the light of day, but the Province was intransigent.

To continue modernizing the Stayen

The request would not respect the standards of the General Development Plan. This tires Duchâtelet to no end; the Limburg businessman would no longer wish to pursue the plans.

“I am totally unmotivated by this project,” he said in Het Belang van Limburg. “It is not right that plans for the South Stand are rejected because of a plot for which there is not even a building permit application yet.” Will the difficulties encountered get the better of the project?
