Who will be at the head of the Red Devils next March? Difficult to say, especially since there is no shortage of speculation as to Domenico Tedesco's possible successor.

Rarely has the game of predictions been so extensive to evoke the profiles called to replace a coach still in office. But with the more than chaotic year 2024 experienced by the Red Devils, Domenico Tedesco is clearly in the hot seat.

And it is not the latest decisions of the Belgian Union (such as not allowing it to express itself on the qualifying group for the 2026 World Cup) which will calm the situation, on the contrary. Several names have already been mentioned to take over our national team.

Among the candidates, Mark van Bommel had not yet been mentioned. The Dutch coach is however interested. It is Sacha Tavolieri who shares the information on LN 24, based on what he received from sources close to the former Antwerp coach.

A strong trainer, more than Tedesco?

More than an interest, Van Bommel and his entourage have even already made a move on the Belgian Union by contacting Vincent Mannaert. Without appearing among the preferred avenues at the moment, it would nevertheless be among the avenues considered and would therefore still feature prominently in the shortlist of our decision-makers.

Cited in Anderlecht following the dismissal of Brian Riemer, Mark van Bommel is still free since his departure fromAntwerp last June. In addition to the advantage of knowing the Belgian competition and therefore part of the reservoir of our football, it would not require paying a departure clause, which is not negligible given the finances of our federation.
