CF Montreal has set its sights on Nigerian midfielder Michael Adedokun at 13th place in the MLS super draft on Friday.
The latter led Ohio State University with eight goals and 11 assists. He was named Big Ten Conference Midfielder of the Year.
Montreal also drafted forward Arik Duncan (University of California, 43rd overall), winger Caden Grabfelder (Penn State, 50th) and defenseman Arthur Duquenne (Clemson, 73rd).
Duncan led the Golden Bears with five goals in 18 games last season.
Grabfelder scored four goals in 15 games with the Nittany Lions last season.
Duquenne helped the Tigers win the NCAA Championship and ACC Tournament in 2023. In 2024, the Frenchman scored a goal and added four assists.
Expansion club San Diego FC have made Ghanaian midfielder Manu Duah the very first pick in this super draft.
The six-foot-four Duah started 14 games for the Santa Barbara Gauchos, helping the MLS Next team reach the under-19 developmental circuit playoffs.
The Vancouver Whitecaps used the 15th overall pick to add University of North Carolina defender Tate Johnson, a Generation Adidas player whose contract will not count against the club's payroll.
Johnson started 16 games, playing 90 minutes in 13 of them.
Toronto FC traded its first-round pick, ninth overall, to San Diego in the deal that landed Brazilian winger Thiago Andrade.
