The winter transfer period is fast approaching and Belgian clubs are impatiently waiting to be able to pull off some nice moves. Sometimes, some of them target the same player.
A great talent
In recent weeks, Anderlecht and La Gantoise have been linked with Miliano Jonathans. This young 20-year-old Dutch right winger has made a strong impression since the start of the season with Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch second division (Eerste Divisie). Despite the difficulties encountered by his club, he scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists in 17 matches.
He remains in the Netherlands
But unfortunately as had been assumed Footnews (https://tinyurl.com/3mbd7yhx) for Anderlecht and La Gantoise, Jonathans decided to stay in the Netherlands. He has just signed with FC Utrecht until 2028. This transfer will bring in 400,000 euros for Vitesse.
“I am very happy to be able to play for this wonderful club. FC Utrecht were immediately very concrete and showed me that they really wanted me. Jordy Zuidam and Ron Jans (ex-Standard, editor’s note) managed to convince me with their enthusiasm and the sporting project they presented to me.”
Before concluding: “FC Utrecht is an ambitious club. It was the ideal next step for my career. I am grateful to Vitesse but it was time for me to play in the Eredivisie.”
