Number 1 is a surprising name: Luka Peruzovic. As a reminder: he was six points ahead when he was fired by Constant Vanden Stock at the request of Marc Degryse. According to Degryse, Peruzovic did not have the charisma of an Anderlecht coach. And his style of play did not correspond to the DNA of the club. These are two criticisms that we cannot make of Hubert.
Another observation: Hubert is by far the youngest in the top 10 coaches with the best records. Peruzovic (41) was not old either, just like Arie Haan (38) and Johan Boskamp (45). But all the other coaches had already gained experience elsewhere. For Hubert, this is his very first adventure as T1. He has proven himself as a troubleshooter.
Two other convenience stores have a better record than Hubert: Jonas De Roeck won his match in Charleroi in 2019; Nicolas Frutos won his three matches on the Belgian scene and only lost one: 0-3 against Celtic in the Champions League. But, unlike Hubert, they had not sufficiently won over the management of the time to be able to extend their lease.
Note that, despite winning the last title (in 2017), René Weiler is narrowly in the top 20 of the all-time rankings. Brian Riemer and Vincent Kompany are not in the top 20. The great Pierre Sinibaldi comes in 11th position. The last place is occupied by poor Fred Rutten, who arrived in the middle of a crisis. And Hein Vanhaezebrouck, too, will not like to be confronted with this ranking.
