A few days before the end-of-year holidays, the USPA experienced a weekend rich in emotions, alternating between sporting exploits and disappointments. Back to the highlights.
Friday evening, the women’s team traveled to Saint-Geniez-d’Olt for the 1/8 finals of the Aveyron Cup. In the 6th minute, Manon Schipper scored on a pass from Lucie Viguier. Although Saint-Geniez equalized quickly, Manon converted a penalty to give his team the lead again. The match continued at a brisk pace, and the USPA finally won 5-2 thanks to additional goals from Clémence Bru, Virginie Pourcel and a hat-trick from Manon Schipper, elected player of the match. The women’s team thus qualifies for the quarter-finals.
Saturday evening, team 1 faced Laissac away after the match was reversed due to the impassability of the Jean-Pourcel pitch. Jean-Christophe Bes opened the scoring from an Oriol Diaz corner, but Laissac equalized before half-time. Unfortunately, three goals in 20 minutes in the second period sealed a 4-1 defeat, leaving a bitter taste for the Alzuréens.
Sunday, team 3 shone in Maleville against Combes. Thanks to a clear domination from the first minutes, the USPA chained goals to finish with an impressive 8-0. Loan Lucas scored a hat-trick, Marin Lacassagne and Mathieu also scored, and the collective efforts were rewarded by a festive atmosphere in the locker room.
Finally, the club welcomed a new member: congratulations to Soizic and Ludo Bec on the birth of Isalya. A sporting break begins, but the players will keep in shape thanks to an adapted program before resuming on January 5.
