Marketa Davidova gives up
Due to persistent back pain, the Czech Marketa Davidova, victorious in a race in Kontiolahti, will not travel to Grand Bornand for the third stage of the Biathlon World Cup.
Currently 4th in the general ranking, Davidova wants to preserve her health.
“Marketa has been complaining of severe back pain since Friday morning – said Libor Vítek, Czech team doctor. “The physiotherapists and I did everything possible to prepare her for the individual races in Hochfilzen.
But we haven't seen any real improvement and we don't want to take any risks, so Marketa will now return home and undergo an examination in Prague.”
