This is a matter whose deliberation was expected in the world of Football. The sentences fell, this Monday, December 16, 2024, in the trial for fraud for which eight people were tried at the end of October in Marseille.
The heaviest sentence was awarded to John Valovic-Galtier, adopted son of former PSG coach Christophe Galtier. He gets two years suspended prison sentence and a fine of 300,000 euros for fraud and for illegal exercise of the profession of player agent. Several of his companies received funds during player and coaching transfers. Irregular operations since John Valovic-Galtier, who was officially sports advisor, did not have the sports agent license issued by the French Football Federation.
TFC singled out for the recruitment of an assistant coach
The facts with which the president of the Toulouse Football Club is accused concern the recruitment, in July 2023, of Jordan Galtier, one of the assistant coaches of the TFC, who is another son of Christophe Galtier. Damien Comilli was therefore judged for having circumvented the law which governs the activity of sports agent using the services of John Valovic-Galtier.
A decision that goes beyond the requests of the prosecution
Two club leaders were on the dock in this affair: the president of TFC Damien Comolli and Emmanuel Desplats, the general director of Dijon, which plays in National. At the hearing, the prosecutor had requested 20,000 euros in fines against Damien Comolli: the court therefore went beyond these requisitions, by condemning him to 30,000 euros fine. He also receives one year of ineligibility. Emmanuel Desplats is sentenced to a fine of 10,000 euros and one year of ineligibility, in accordance with what the prosecutor requested.
