After a final rough match against the Rockets, the Warriors found themselves faced with the opposite excess against the Mavs. Jason Kidd's men start the match on a cloud, and in the wake of an untenable Luka Doncic, they take a 19-point lead after just seven minutes of play behind more than 65% skill (35-16)! The Warriors limit the damage thanks to a 7/13 from distance, including 3/4 for Draymond Green (21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists) again in a sixth man role (46-33).

Golden State then continues its momentum. Stephen Curry (26 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds), Buddy Hield, Andrew Wiggins (29 points), and Lindy Waters III all score at least two field goals to allow the Warriors to go 11/19 from distance in the second quarter !

Despite this long distance festival, their defense is still unable to slow down Luka Doncic. The Slovenian finished the first half with 28 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds to keep Dallas in front (81-74).

A real 3-point contest!

A winning basket from Jonathan Kuminga (20 points, 6 assists) brings the Dubs back to one possession after the locker room but the duo Luka Doncic – Klay Thompson launches a 17-6 for the Mavs who regain the lead (100-86). The gap then increases to +16, but the pair Draymond Green – Stephen Curry helps Golden State finish the third quarter with a 9-0 to come back to seven lengths (114-107).

Stephen Curry, Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins then added a layer and the Chase Center rumbled as the Warriors returned to three units again (118-115). So far discreet, Kyrie Irving (21 points, 8 assists) then revives his team. Daniel Gafford (10 points, 9 rebounds) follows suit on the offensive rebound, and three award-winning shots from Klay Thompson dampen the hopes of the local fans (138-127)!

The Warriors therefore have a tenth defeat in the last twelve games, but they will see Dennis Schroeder arrive before the next match in Memphis on Thursday. The Mavericks continue their momentum with eight victories in their last ten games.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– Record address at Chase Center. At the end of a true long-distance contest, the Mavs and the Warriors added a new line to NBA history. The two teams combined for 48 3-point shots, with a 51% success rate, to set the new NBA record for the number of 3-pointers scored in a game. Despite the defeat, the Warriors equaled their franchise record with 27 successes. It's also the most 3-pointers scored in a loss in NBA history.

– Luka Doncic on cloud nine. The Dallas star set the tone for his team with an almost perfect first quarter and the Warriors defense could do nothing to slow down his scoring and his distribution of caviar. Doncic finished the game with 45 points on 69% shooting, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds. Simply a demonstration. In his wake, the Mavs were on fire all match, finishing with 60% shooting success!

– Klay Thompson signs his best game in the Dallas jersey. With 29 points last night, 9/13 on shots and 7/11 on 3-pointers, Klay Thompson established his points record in a Mavs jersey. The former Warrior scored 21 points after the break, including three straight three-pointers in the final quarter, to kill off his former team's attempted heist. In two games at Chase Center this season, he averaged 25.5 points.
