Ivan Demidov has great potential.
It’s a shame because he hasn’t been used properly by his coach since the start of the season, but we saw at several points why the Canadian selected him with the 5th pick in the last draft.
That’s also why we can’t wait to see him in Montreal.

And there’s no one better than German Titov (a former NHL player) to talk about it.
Titov had the opportunity to coach both young people in their respective careers (Kaprizov with Metallurg Novokuznetsk and Demidov with the SKA junior club) and without necessarily comparing them in terms of style of play, he maintains that both have qualities similar at the level of the skate.

German Titov finds that Demidov’s path and that of Kaprizov are very similar. Because there are qualities between the two players that are similar in terms of attitude: they are two guys who work hard to improve.
We can read his comments in an interview he gave to the site Responsible Gambler (to Daria Tuboltseva):
German Titov says there’s no point in comparing Demidov to an NHL player because he wants Demidov to become the player he wants to become.
He wants to see him become “Ivan Demidov” and not Kirill Kaprizov 2.0 or Nikita Kucherov 2.0.
All in all, the comments of the main person concerned are interesting because he rubbed shoulders with Kaprizov and Demidov when they were younger.
He knows that Kaprizov has become an exceptional player today in the National League… And when Titov argues that Demidov has what it takes to reach that status, you have to believe him because he is one of the few to have seen both grow up.
