Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has spoken out on transfer rumors surrounding disgraced Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee.
The Dutch international has had a disappointing start to his career in England since his transfer from Bologna this summer. He has scored just three goals in all competitions and has only started five Premier League games. Zirkzee’s poor form has fueled speculation of a January departure, with some within Manchester United wondering if they made a mistake in signing him.
At 23, Zirkzee had an impressive season with Bologna last year, playing a key role in the club’s qualification for the Champions League. Now he is strongly linked with a return to Italy, where he could reunite with his former coach Thiago Motta at Juventus. In response to the transfer rumors, Juventus director Giuntoli spoke about the club’s recruitment strategy and the possibility of signing the player sidelined by Manchester United in January.
