The commission for aid to overseas works of the CNC (National Center for Cinema and Animated Images) met last November and decided to grant selective aid to three cinematographic works presenting, according to its criteria, a cultural interest. for overseas territories. Remember that this aid is allocated each year to works which contribute to a better knowledge of these territories, to their promotion among a wide audience, to the promotion of their cultural expressions or to the training of their residents in cinematographic expression and to the cinema professions.

With this in mind, two feature films and one short film which present these characteristics have been selected and will therefore receive a subsidy which is allocated to the delegated production company, that is to say which takes the initiative and financial, technical and artistic responsibility for the production of the film and guarantees its successful completion. The selected films are as follows:

Pull Up! » by director Sébastien Tulard

Author notably of the successful comedy “ Under the stars » in 2023. “Pull Up!” » takes place in the music industry and tells the story of Rudy aka Rude Boys, a former glory of the reggae-dance hall music scene who decides to reform his group and release their unfinished album from around twenty years ago of years. The selective aid granted by the CNC’s overseas commission amounts to 60,000, 80,000 and 20,000 euros respectively, but can be combined with other selective aid granted by the CNC such as advances on receipts before direction for feature films or financial contributions for short films.
