Mixed performance for Caroline Ulrich in the first sprint of the World Cup season. Saturday in Courchevel, the athlete from La Tour-de-Peilz only took 14th place. Leysenoude Thibe Deseyn fared better.
We announced it to you several days ago, Caroline Ulrich has ambitions in sprint for this new World Cup season. La Boélande will seek to perform in the discipline, with a view to qualifying for the 2026 Olympic Games. Unfortunately for her, the first stage did not go as planned.
Saturday in Courchevel, in neighboring France, the 22-year-old placed 14th, eliminated in the quarter-finals. She was notably beaten by Leysenoude Thibe Deseyn (11th), as well as by Neuchâteloise Marianne Fatton (2nd). Victory went to Frenchwoman Emily Harrop.
Among the men, Grison’s Arno Lietha also took second place in the sprint, behind Spaniard Oriol Cardona. Chorgue Tobias Donne took 30th place. Florian Ulrich, from La Tour-de-Peilz, took 44th place. Finally, Quentin Mariaux de Muraz is 52nd.
