The country’s best hockey players under the age of 16 met in Porrentruy on Friday. The Swiss women’s U16 team is organizing a training camp at the Raiffeisen Arena. Young athletes are entitled to on-ice sessions, theoretical analyzes in the gym, as well as physical conditioning activities. Training sessions are open to the public. Find all timetables here. The weekend will conclude with a friendly match against the U15 Top of HC Delémont-Vallée on Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Jurassian Maëlia Vauclair has the opportunity to participate in this gathering. It’s a real honor for the player who plays with the Ladies of HC Ajoie. “It’s not the same as what we usually have. We only play with girls who are the same age as us and that’s cool. It’s incredible, there are physiotherapists, equipment managers and lots of people to supervise us. It makes me want to work hard,” says the daughter of former hockey player Tristan Vauclair. Her goals are clear: to play as long as possible with the Swiss team and go to League A one day, even if she is very attached to her club. “Why not help the Ladies move up to League B to stay as long as possible in this club,” she smiles. The Jurassian hopes to participate in the tournament in Georgia in February with the Swiss U16 team. /lge
