For its part, France notably organized the women’s Euro-2018, won by the Bleues.
The final phase in Germany
In total, Euro 2032 will take place in “six venues, two in France and four in Germany”, specified the EHF. If the final selection “has not yet been determined, the candidacy includes well-known venues such as the Defense Arena in Paris”, which notably hosted swimming during the 2024 Olympic Games. “France will host two groups from the preliminary round as well than the Blues group during the main round,” said the French Federation (FFHB) in a press release. The final phase (semi-finals and finals) will take place exclusively in Germany. The opposite of 2029, where Paris will host the final square.
“This Franco-German duo works and people naturally have confidence in our ability to live up to the events we organize,” rejoiced the president of the FFHB, Philippe Bana.
Women’s Euro 2032 still in Germany
Germany, Denmark and Poland will also be the host countries of the women’s Euro 2032, while the last two will join forces again, alongside the Czech Republic, for the men’s Euro 2030. For the moment, no announcement has yet been made to host the Women’s Euro this same year.
The FFHB specifies that France “could apply with another country, if the European Federation relaunches the applications”.
