got scared before scoring

It took three consecutive alerts of poor restarts near their surface before the Lorient players reacted. They will be able to thank the missed opportunities by Camara (4′) and Krasso (5′) which allowed them to be the first to lead. Alone at the far post, Ponceau pushed Tosin’s good cross into the back of the net (1-0, 13′). The FCL obtained the best situations of the first period (7′, 20′, 23′, 32′), without doubling the lead… and without definitively erasing their gifts to the opponent, but the missed pass from Mvogo n was not exploited by Krasso (35′). FCL had the opportunities to make the break in the second half (Avom Ebong, 49′; Tosin, 58′; Kroupi, 68′; Le Bris, 90’+ 4). Lorient could have paid dearly, without a decisive save from Mvogo (74′), supplemented by his cross on the same occasion! The end of the match was to the advantage of Lorient, eleven against ten after the exclusion of Marchetti (85′). Soumano gave a more logical color to this success at the end of added time (2-0, 90’+7), by converting a penalty obtained by Yongwa.

Tosin the passing attacker

Aiyegun Tosin delivered his fifth assist in the last seven games. The Beninese is currently Lorient’s best weapon in the penultimate move, which is not so surprising given his use. He is served in depth as a first intention, almost systematically, stretching the opposing defenses and allowing his teammates to arrive at the goal. Ponceau took advantage against PFC (13′). Pagis (20′) and Katseris (23′) did not have the same success. And Tosin himself, two goals in Ligue 2 this season, was less inspired to conclude: he missed his face-to-face with Nkambadio (32′) and completely missed his recovery (58′). He left the pitch immediately, giving way to Soumano, with the black look of a player who doesn’t like being replaced…

Lorient leader

And eight! The FCL won its eighth victory in as many matches at Moustoir this season. An impressive series which offers first place in Ligue 2 to Olivier Pantaloni’s players. A first, after several missed opportunities during the previous 15 days. FC Lorient will therefore be leader at the break, before ending the year in the Coupe de in (R1), Saturday December 21 (6 p.m.).

Note the exit due to a muscular injury of Igor Silva, who left during the break. The FCL right-back was decisive in recovering the ball at the origin of the Lorient goal.
