At the end of the elective general assembly of the FFN, the list “For strong and efficient swimming” whose head of list is Mr. Gilles Sézionale, was elected with 622 favorable votes (698 voters) representing 245,869 votes. With the European Championships organized in France in 2026 and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games in his sights, the President of the federal body wants to rely on ten major pillars and more than 100 concrete measures to implement his project ” For strong and efficient swimming.”
At the end of a mandate which ended in a very good sporting manner with seven medals including four gold at the Paris Olympic Games (equaled London record), the President of the French Swimming Federation Gilles Sézionale was re-elected for the next Olympiad.
During its previous mandate, the FFN experienced some significant progress, notably increasing its number of licensees by 33% since 2017, with a particular emphasis on modernization, sporting performance and lasting legacy for future generations, notably thanks to the launch of the Swimming Academy and the acquisition of 23 mobile pools for initiatives such as “I learn to swim”.
For this new Olympics, President Gilles Sézionale and his team wish to position France in the Top 4 in the world with real ambitions for medals in the five federal disciplines at the 2028 Olympic Games. The project for this new mandate also highlights the desire to consolidate governance and the federal network, the ambition to promote an exemplary federation and also the desire to retain licensees and reach the 500,000 mark by 2028. Without forgetting the development of practices or the construction of a swimming center.
