From Bgard, Mister 2024 wants to “take the region as high as possible”

Who are you, Mikaël Séné?

A basic Parisian, I came to to study biology at the UCO in Guingamp, where I obtained my license. I then decided to change course and complete training in BP Jeps at the IRSS in to become a sports coach. This is currently my job. I wander between and Brittany between corporate coaching and independent and individual coaching. When I’m in Brittany, I live in Begard, with my parents.

I’m going to take my game seriously to try to bring Brittany as high as possible in the national rankings.

How did you come to participate in this Mister Bretagne competition? What does it feel like to put on the scarf?

It’s a world that I didn’t know at all. When the former committee delegate contacted me on social media, I thought it was a scam but it turned out to be very serious. I was offered a first photo shoot at the end of August 2024, during which I understood the importance of the election. I’m not going to change my behavior because I had a title. I stay myself. I’m going to take my game seriously to try to bring Brittany as high as possible in the national rankings.

How did the election go on Sunday, November 10, in Morbihan?

There was a great atmosphere with all the other candidates. I was afraid it would be very hypocritical but not at all. There was very good cohesion even though we were in competition. We all helped each other. It was really a great day, we had a lot of laughs, especially during the preparation day the day before.

Not too much pressure with the jury and the public? Has your experience as a sports coach helped you?

It’s more my way of being in general that helped me. I am quite sociable, not too shy. Obviously, there is pressure when you parade in front of 150 people but overall, it went very well.

How did your loved ones react?

They supported me during the three months of preparation and on the big day. It gave me a boost, I thank them. Everyone follows me with a smile, I have never had any bad feedback. I don’t have a girlfriend, so no jealousy (laughs).

Where is your scarf? Do you always have it with you or is it folded in a drawer?

I have it with me. I don’t wear it every day but whenever I need it, I take it out for photoshoots or commercial partnerships.

“I’m not going to change my behavior because I had a title. I remain myself,” assures Mikaël Séné, Mister Bretagne 2024, originally from Bgard. (Steffy Tiret)

You are Mister National Brittany 2024. If you meet the other Mister Brittany 2024, that of the Mister Bretagne committee, how does it go?

I never asked myself the question. We are in two different committees but I think he thinks the same way as me. If I meet him I will chat with him without problem. I don’t know about Mister France Bretagne but for us, the objective is to go international.

What’s next? How do you prepare for the Mister National competition?

I’m going to try to see the former Mister Bretagne, Gwen Jegouzo, who will give me advice to improve my charisma, my approach for the parade. For my part, I will continue to do photo shoots with photographers in Paris and Brittany to help me gain self-confidence. The closer the deadline gets, the more I will approach businesses to increase the Mister Bretagne committee.
