Lucas Stassin scored his first goal in Ligue 1 with Saint-Étienne this Friday evening. But this was not enough for the Greens to win against Toulouse.
This Friday evening, Toulouse faced Saint-Étienne at the opening of the 15th day of Ligue 1. Lucas Stassin started with the French club.
It was he who got the ball rolling. Indeed, in the 53rd minute of play, the Belgian hopeful scored his first goal in the colors of the Greens. Until then, he had already delivered 4 assists in the French championship.
But unfortunately for the former Anderlecht player and his family, this goal was not enough. Toulouse came back straight away thanks to Shavy Babicka. The Toulouse then buried Olivier Dall’Oglio’s players in the 85th minute with a goal from Zakaria Aboukhlal.
Despite the defeat, this first goal remains a relief for Lucas Stassin, who carries on his shoulders the weight of being the most expensive incoming transfer in the history of the French club. Nine million euros were spent by the Greens.
In the standings, Saint-Étienne is 16th out of 18 with 13 points. The last, Montpellier, is 5 points away. Le Havre could overtake them by winning against Strasbourg this Sunday. Le Havre has 12 points.
